چکیده
The design of synchronous reluctance machines with and without permanent magnets assistance constitutes a challenging engineering task due to the numerous variables performance indexes be considered. complexity increases even further when application requires high speed operation, consequent rotor structural constraints related effects on electromagnetic performance. Structured as two-parts companion papers, this work proposes comprehensive procedure able consider all non-linear aspects machine behaviour, greatly reducing number independent variables, worsening computational burden. In particular, non linear behaviour iron ribs effect are taken into account proposed iterative targeting achievement desired power factor. method will then used draw some preliminary considerations highlighting several trade-offs involved in magnet assisted machine. Part I is setting theoretical bricks that expanded experimentally validated paper II.
